2011 Red Bordeaux From The Bottle An inconsistent drinker's vintage that offers immediate appeal Readers should refer to Issue 200 of The Wine Advocate, dated April 30, 2012, for my barrel tasting reviews of the 2011 Bordeaux vintage. In general, the bottled wines performed as well as if not slightly better than they did from barrel. Of course, some under‐performed and others over‐performed in this recent tasting. Unless otherwise noted, all of the following wines were tasted in bottle in late March and early April, 2014.

A boire 2014-2029
Commentaire Talbot’s dense ruby/purple color is followed by an attractive, spicy, earthy St.-Julien displaying hints of tapenade, black cherries and soil undertones in a forward, lush, round, seductive style. This excellent, medium-bodied 2011 should provide delicious drinking for 10-15 years. Talbot appears to have succeeded admirably in this vintage.
