Château de Barbe extends over 66 hectares from the top of the hillsides to the Gironde estuary. This proximity to the Gironde provides a microclimate favorable to the cultivation of vines. The Savary de Beauregard family owned the château until its acquisition in 1993 by the Richard family, already owners in Côtes de Bourg. The quality of the terroir and the winemaking work reveal the fruitiness, fleshiness and elegance of the wines, which regularly receive distinctions.
Winemaking
Destemming and sorting of the berries in vats. Cold pre-fermentation maceration. Vatting from 3 weeks to 1 month with aging in vats. Fining before bottling for color stabilization. Clarifying filtration at bottling.
Tasting
This wine offers a rich and engaging nose of very ripe black fruits, stone fruits, cocoa, with slightly spicy notes. An ample, warm and fleshy palate is carried by intense but silky tannins
