Champy House’s Île des Vergelesses Rouge is crafted from meticulously selected Pinot Noir grapes grown in the Côte d'Or's prestigious Île des Vergelesses vineyards. The south-facing slopes provide optimal sun exposure, allowing the fruit to develop full ripeness while retaining natural acidity. Hand-harvested in small batches, the grapes undergo a gentle, whole-cluster fermentation using indigenous yeasts. Aging takes place over 12 months in French oak barrels—half new and half seasoned—to achieve a harmonious balance between fruit expression and subtle oak influence.In the glass, this wine displays a vibrant ruby hue, inviting the nose with aromas of wild cherry, red currant, and a hint of violets. The palate offers a seamless interplay of juicy red fruits and refined minerality, leading to a long, elegant finish with lingering notes of spice and fresh earth.
