The vineyard of Château La Mission Haut-Brion dates back to the 16th century.It is an annuity that will lead to the birth of La Mission Haut-Brion by being transferred, in 1682, to the Lazarists of Bordeaux, also known as the Priests of the Mission. Thus was born La Mission Haut-Brion, then owned by the Catholic Church.Domaine Clarence Dillon became the owner in 1983 and gave La Mission a new Renaissance.Château La Mission Haut-Brion shares with Château Haut-Brion the large gravel terrace of Haut-Brion, surrounded by the Peugue and Serpent streams. The gravel is made up of different varieties of quartz. The subsoil is clay-sandy in nature.Area: 29 hectares, including 25 hectares and 56 ares planted with black grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc).Nose on red/black fruits, cigar, spherical and silky mouth, very nice finish.
