At Château Carbonnieux, the harvest began at the beginning of September for the white grape varieties (Sauvignon Blanc, then Sémillon), then at the end of the month for the reds (Merlot, then Cabernet Sauvignon). The maintenance of the sanitary condition, after a complicated summer, and thanks to an exceptional late autumn of the sunniest, notably made it possible to wait, plot after plot, for the optimum ripeness desired. Carbonnieux 2014 red therefore produces a very expressive wine, with a very bright black fruitiness, giving the whole of the gluttony. The mouth has weight, a suave tannic structure endowed with sappy tannins (very noble) with fine grain, with a silky touch of the most elegant. A Pessac-Léognan with style and promoted to a bright future in this vintage which borders in many respects on the great 2005, 2009 and 2010.
