Vineyard & Terroir
Les Maréchaudes Vineyard
Situated on a southern-facing slope in Aloxe-Corton, the Les Maréchaudes parcel benefits from limestone-rich soils with excellent drainage. The vines average 40 years of age, contributing depth and concentration to the fruit.
Climate & Harvest
The 2022 growing season combined a cool spring with ideal ripening conditions in late summer. Hand-harvested at peak maturity, the grapes display balanced sugar-acid levels and intense varietal character.
Tasting Notes
Colour: Deep ruby red.
Nose: Aromas of wild cherry, blackcurrant, underbrush, and delicate spice.
Palate: Silky tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of red plum, licorice, and a mineral streak that leads to a persistent, elegant finish.
Food Pairings & Serving Suggestions
This Grand Cru is a superb companion to roast duck with cherry sauce, beef tenderloin with mushrooms, or aged Comté cheese. Serve at 16–18 °C in a large Burgundy glass to fully appreciate its aromatic complexity.
Aging Potential
While already enjoyable in its youth, the 2022 Corton Grand Cru Les Maréchaudes will evolve beautifully over 10–15 years, revealing deeper tertiary notes of truffle, leather, and dried fruit.
