Northern gateway to the Côte de Beaune, the mountain of Corton is home to two prestigious grands crus, including Corton, which extends over the municipalities of Aloxe-Corton, Ladoix-Serrigny and Pernand-Vergelesses. The AOC Corton grand cru is mainly planted in red, in 25 different climates; the few hectares of vines planted in white, on all or part of certain climats, cannot claim the name of the original climat and are therefore produced under the Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru appellation.
